Victoria Kurtz, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with an office in Gramercy Park who also makes home visits. With deep respect for each person and their inner journey, and through active listening, she offers her full enthusiastic presence, curiosity, and commitment to healing.
In the office, Vicki serves young children, adolescents, and adults with a broad range of emotional and interpersonal difficulties, providing psychotherapy and neuropsychological evaluations. In the home, she serves people who are unable to travel due to sickness or terminal illness and is especially devoted to helping people find comfort and peace at the end of life. Vicki is a graduate of the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care’s Foundations in Contemplative Care program and holds certification as an End of Life Doula from the University of Vermont, and completed training in Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy through Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center . She has worked with people when hospitalized and in hospice and is passionate about assisting people with life review (i.e., telling the story of their life) and with legacy projects (i.e., leaving a legacy for loved ones).
Vicki has rich and varied work and life experience. She has worked with traumatized children close to Ground Zero after 9/11; helped establish a clinic for struggling learners in New Delhi, India; and trained graduate students at the American Museum of Natural History to work compassionately with adolescents. She began her career as an elementary school teacher and a reading and learning disabilities specialist. Having danced professionally, her clinical work is informed by deep understanding about mind/body connectivity. Vicki works on a private pay basis and may also be eligible as an out-of-network provider.
