Linda Kane, L.C.S.W., is a licensed clinical social worker certified in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. She has been in private practice for over 25 years, working with adults, teens and seniors. Linda’s first job as a social worker was providing in-home counseling to caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients in Philadelphia. Linda has led bereavement groups for older adults through the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, as well as groups for new and second time mothers in her private practice. More recently, she added eating disorders and other addictions to her specialties which include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, grief, and life transitions. Linda finds it a privilege to be brought in to the personal struggles of her clients. She believes that being able to say everything to another who listens with empathy and without judgement can be immensely helpful in relieving one’s pain. Linda is an active therapist and is very interested in knowing what is working and what is not working in the therapeutic relationship. Linda is in private practice in Downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. She is also a supervisor, teacher, and training committee member at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. Linda works on a private pay basis, and may also be eligible as an out-of-network provider.
