Kacey Prishwalko is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist with over a decade of experience providing support to adults at home. As a social worker at the Manhattan VA on East 23rd Street, she worked with veterans across generations — from previously unhoused veterans entering stable housing for the first time, to WWII veterans in their 90s reflecting on lives fully lived. Kacey now operates in private practice through Kacey Prishwalko LCSW, PLLC, offering in-home psychotherapy throughout Manhattan and virtual psychotherapy across New York State.
Kacey’s approach is rooted in insight-oriented psychotherapy, meaning she is curious about the ways parts of ourselves can live outside of awareness, and about the deeper patterns that shape us. At the same time, she doesn’t work from a rigid or predetermined framework. Drawing upon CBT, DBT, CPT, IFS, and other evidence-based approaches when they fit, the work is unhurried, collaborative, and genuinely human.
Kacey works with adults facing current or past trauma (including childhood abuse and neglect, identity disruption, and loss), grief, depression, anxiety, burnout, serious illness, and life transitions, with a particular focus on veterans and older adults. She holds a Master of Social Work from the Silver School of Social Work at New York University and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Palliative and End-of-Life Care, also from NYU. She has trained at the Trauma Research Foundation International Trauma Conference and is currently completing a certificate in trauma studies. Kacey is licensed in New York State and works on a private-pay basis, with limited sliding scale availability. Superbills are available for clients with out-of-network benefits.
Kacey’s home visits are conducted with attention to accessibility and comfort — seating accommodations, masking, and white noise available upon request.
